Trying to find the name of a specific cheap but good chinese place near tyson's..

This is random and a long shot, I know. My husband and I moved here from NYC and can't find any Chinese food that we like. I lived in DC during a summer in college and my boyfriend at the time was from the area. One day after shopping at Tyson's he took me to some really cheapo place that was DELICIOUS and I remember craving it for days after. It must have been somewhere near Tyson's although I have no idea where, and we ate outside on picnic tables. I think they served the food on paper plates or in styrofoam containers. I can't remember if it was take out only or had a small eating area inside, but there was definitely a picnic table or two outside. I am pretty sure that it was in some kind of strip mall but it was on the end, so one side of it bordered the street, and there were parking spaces in front.

I feel like this is restaurant CSI Anyone have any idea what place I am talking about?

How long ago would this have been? It will give me an idea of how much Tysons has changed.

PS: the good Chinese is in Rockville because Chinatown basically relocated there after the Verizon Center opened.

It sounds like Wok 'n Roll to me. They have really good Chinese food and picnic tables outside (plus parking right in front of the restaurant). It is in downtown McLean, a few miles from Tyson's. I don't know of anything good in Tyson's itself.

Thanks for the help! This was during the summer of 2005. Going to check out Wok and Roll now online.. I hope that's it Unfortunately, driving to Rockville is unlikely for us since we live in Alexandria but good to know in case we end up there for whatever reason!

This is the PP who suggested Wok 'n Roll. Forgot to mention they serve in styrofoam plates and it's sitting on a corner. So I think that's it! Let us know.

OP, I don't know if you're looking for Cantonese, Mandarin, Schezwan or what. Can you be more specific about the actual food served?

There are a lot of good places that serve Chinese food around here, but your question is like trying to find an Italian restaurant by the type of trees growing outside. The food itself is usually the best "evidence" of what the restaurant might be (to keep with your CSI theme).
