Food, Cooking, and Restaurants
| I'll be in Berkeley later this spring and need a caterer that I can coordinate with from here who can do a simple brunch for 10-15 that I can easily manage with little effort on the ground when I am there. Thinking breakfast bread basket, lox and bagel trays, fruit salad, etc. Something easy that they can deliver or that I can pick up (I'll have a rental car). TIA |

No person experiences, but people on Berkeley Parents Network recommend these caterers in general:
Ann's Catering (mentioned specifically for brunch, twice) La Med on College Ave Margaret Reisen Cooks Great Party + Great Food East Bay Culinary Projects Henri Loh Lois Moore Blue Heron Catering |
| Thank you for such a quick response -- I am going to look some of these up and give them a call. |

This is not a catering idea at all, but if I were in Berkeley trying to organize a simple brunch (i.e. coffee and pastries), I'd call ahead to the Berkeley Cheese Board (on Shattuck Ave) to order an assortment of their amazing breads and pastries. Then I would just pick up a bunch of coffee from Peet's close by on Walnut and Vine. Mmmmm... Peet's. On the other hand, this wouldn't be so much a treat for the Berkeley brunch attendees, as they have access to this every day, as it would be for me.
Regarding catering, it's been awhile, but I've heard good things about Blue Heron. La Med is probably La Mediterranee, a Mediterranean / Middle Eastern restaurant in Berkeley. If they do brunch, it's news to me. Great for lunch and dinner though. |
