worst: not enough 1-on-1 time
best: watching how much they care for each other and how much richer their lives are b/c of each other.

worst: the constant loud noise and intereruptions. I honestly can't think when they are all around.
best: knowing those three amazing little people

The worst thing about having three kids is the never ending chaos, the best thing is the never ending chaos.

Really. Some days is too much, but some days I love it. We had two of the three sick with a flu bug on Monday. It was so quiet and strange with just one. We enjoyed the one on one time, but I've grown to love the craziness of three. FWIW - my kids are older 5, 7 & 9.

Best - All the (+) interactions between the 3
Worst - All the (-) interactions between the 3

One of the most challenging things about having three kids is that the family gets pulled in different directions -- moving from two children to three means that interests and activities become just diverse enough and the age differences just wide enough that you frequently have to "split up." One of the best things about having three kids is the "fullness of family" feeling it provides. What a privilege and joy it is to parent three distinct personalities and observe their interactions.

I love this thread.

My husband and I finally admitted to ourselves that we are too old to have a third. But I love the thought of it!

Best = My heart melts seeing them interact and play together.

Worst = Someone *always* needs/wants/is asking for something. It's tough to sit for a minute without being bothered.

Worst: always feeling like one is being shortchanged and not getting enough one-on-one time, usually one of the younger two because dad enjoys spending time with the older one more so I am juggling a 3 year old and a six month old AND the added hassle of traveling as a five-some on vacations.

Best: everything else!

Best- how caring they are to one another (there's a reason EVERYONE is saying this--- it's magic)
Worst - The noise level.

Worst: The world assumes that ALL families are two parents and two kids. Any type of "family pack" (for example of museum passes, amusement park passes, etc) are usually packs of 4. Most hotel rooms will only accomodate 4, etc.

Bests have already been mentioned

I am loving this!! I have had the worst week with my 3 and was starting to think we were the only household that feels like it's in complete chaos all the time!!! Thanks for posting. And FWIW - when my 3 aren't trying to kill each other it's amazing to watch them and know what joy and companionship they bring each other.

I also love the PP's comment about not being able to think - I completely get this!

worst- not one second to myself ( but kids are 4,2 and 1 ) so am hoping this eases a bit.
best- they adore each other, they are their own play date and have each other's backs already. it is amazing and i can't wait to see the dynamic as they get older.
