We received a nice bottle -- 5-7 years ago. I wanted to save for a special occassion and then I forgot about it. How long will it last?
(I know, this a really pressing problem of our time). |
| Wow. There are vintage bottles of La Veuve that are 200 years old. After opening, there would be no fizz but still, quelle bouteille! Keep it as long as possible if it is a vintage of a good year. If not drink it within a decade. |
| Use it within the next week. |

14:45 here.
It won't go bad if you wait longer, but why wait for a special occasion? A bottle of champagne = a special occasion. |
| What if it has been refrigerated? Anyone know how long that will last? I forgot about two expensive bottles in the fridge? |

I'd say 3-4 days max, but it is worth opening even if it has been longer. Enjoy! |
| In our house, about an hour and a half after it's opened... |
| it's gone sour. but for a very small price I'll dispose of it for you |
|
| Not many wines are intended to be aged, but it should still be good. Make a special occasion and enjoy! |
SO "DCUM" - a question about champagne gets 11 responses but I ask for recs on kids' bicycles and I get zero responses.

You need more "wine on your whine". Hey lunsch lady,... |
Funny to come across this. . .today my husband and I took off work to clean out the house while the kids are at daycare. We came across a bottle of champagne (not veuve clicquot) in a closet, and popped it in the fridge. Have to say, after we chilled and opened it, we enjoyed our spring cleaning much more.
