I'm going somewhere warm this weekend. I won't be in a bathing suit but I will be wearing a dress with bare legs, and my legs are pasty and disgusting. I want to do some self-tanner but in the past it has always come out streaky. I'm wondering if a spray would be more even? Any tips for getting a subtle glow without the telltale streaks? (I don't want to do the gradual daily stuff as I can't stand the smell--I'd rather do it once and be done.)
Thanks! |

Get St Tropez or Faux Tan (Amazon.com). Ive used EVERYTHING from Clarins to CVS and these 2 are the best. They are pricey but they don't smell (Faux tan smells really good, actually...like almonds) and some of them are actually brownish in color so you can see what you have put on.
1) use an exfoliator or one of those gloves/mitts in the shower. Shave your legs. 2) Squeeze out a sizable amount of fake tan and rub between your palms. Cover your legs with the cream, working around and around in circles. use a lot so its not patchy. The key is to almost massage your legs with the fake tan, really slathering it all over your legs to ensure full coverage. 3) Before it gets too dry, grab some regular moisturizer and rub it between your palms. Spread all over the edges of your legs, the periphery (like feet, ankles, and bikini line). This will prevent you from having a line where the fake tan begins and ends. It will make it more gradual from tan to pale. 4) Get a nail brush and scrub the hell out of your nails, palms, hands, fingers!!!! 5) Dont shower or exercise for 12 hours or so (the longer the better!) |

PP gave excellent advice. I second the Faux Tan (also available on QVC.com). It smells delicious and starts off black, so you can see exactly where it's going and how heavily it's been applied. Be very careful about possible dry spots (like your knees or the bone along your ankle, heels) as they'll darken. And be sure to wipe between your toes and along the tops so that the color is even. |
| I use Jergens and mix it with equal parts regular moisterizer. |
| Sally Hansen spray for legs is not a self-tanner. It is extremely transfer resistant and the color is good. Sounds like just what you need. |
| I live in California and use faux tan every day. Best stuff out there!!! |
| Is Faux Tan a Bare Escentuals product? |
| yes it is, pp! |
| Thanks, found it at QVC adn going to give it a try.... |
