Infertility Support and Discussion
|
Last month I ordered Ovidrel from Freedom Pharmacy, which is where my Dr. recommended. I just called and they said they now charge $30 shipping/handling, making the cost jump from $65 to $95.
My insurance doesn't cover it, and I haven't called around - thought I'd check here first. Is this still a decent price? If not, any suggestions on where to buy? Thanks! |
| Have you checked Prosperity Pharmacy? They are located in Fairfax. |
| Wow! I had been getting it from Freedom Fertility too and I thought it had been $50 total. Once I needed it that same night and got it from Grubbs pharmacy on the hill. It was more expensive but less, I think, than what you're quoting. Give them a call. They have a fertility assistant who called me after to ask how my purchase went. Think her name was Cathy.... She was nice but I had a better price at Freedom so hadn't gone back. Let me know what you find out. If they're raised their prices that much I'll be checking out Grubbs again. Good luck! |
| Thanks, both of you. I will look into those tomorrow and post what I find. |

I got an Ovidrel prescription last month from Grubb Pharmacy, and it was $75. They delivered it to my office in Bethesda with a cold pack for no extra charge, along with a complimentary sharps container. Everything went smoothly.
I think that a while back Freedom Pharmacy was the least expensive choice, but I also noted that their price on this drug has gone way up, especially if you're not ordering any other fertility medicine from them. |

OP here. I didn't realize Grubb's delivered - that is great! I just called both Grubb's - $75 and Prosperity - $99.21.
Freedom's price beats both of theirs if you're ordering other drugs, but not if all you're ordering is Ovidrel. |
| I get mine at Ambulatory Care in Rockville (main SG office building) for $75. |
