I have recently discovered how great this store is and my new favorite is the marinated chicken kabobs-so easy to make and I can make them twice (6 total) and my husband will eat 2-I have 1 and then I'll make a salad and a side--anything else that anyone can recommend that would be that simple and taste that good! He has loved these and I'm normally awful about cooking with chicken and these are so moist! |
Don't know the name, but there is a Chinese chicken dish in a bag in the frozen section. It may be sweet & sour; I know there is a sauce. Anyway, you can bake the chicken, so it's healthier than typical sweet & sour, and I always add broccoli florets to give us some veggies. |
ok thanks-I'll check that out! |
gnocchi sorrentina and then buy eggplant cutlets to go w/ (all frozen)
chicken chili lime burgers w/ sweet potato fries (frozen) tilapia (frozen) with mango papaya salsa (in frozen sec) over rice chicken breasts simmered in mojito sauce (jarred sec) w/ rice and beans their pizzas are good too, w a yummy caesar wils alaskan salmon fillets - thumbs up |
I like the vegetarian lasagna. It comes in individual servings. It makes a good lunch. Add a side veggie and salad though, and it would be a good dinner. |
I love the frozen eggplant parmesean by "Trader Giotti" in the blue container. The single servings in the clear container aren't as good. I also love their pasta. I've also liked the bagged frozen chinese food. Other good ones:
Chicken Quesadillas Not frozen, but Indian Entrees are good Naan Jasmine Rice that you put in the microwave for a few minutes and comes out perfect.....they also have brown rice. Frozen Macaroni & Cheese Refridgerated Rack of Lamb....kind of fatty but only like $10 There's also this tuna steak that isn't refridgerated that is in a curry sauce and you can mix it with the mixed frozen potatoes....they had it as a sample there once and it was really good so we got it a few times I'd suggest trying anything that sounds good to you. Most of it is pretty good, even though some you won't want again just because it's not your taste really. Good luck! |
As a PP suggested - the chicken chili lime burgers are great! I thought I wouldn't like them, but they are really tasty. |
The orange chicken (frozen, with sauce) is fabulous. It may be slightly less healthy but really yummy. |
I second the Orange Chicken and Sweet and Sour Chicken recs. I also like the Tarte de Alsace--like a crispy flatbread/pizza with caramelized onions, ham, and Gruyere. And the Indian simmer sauces in the jar (add chicken and chickpeas) are great with the jasmine rice and naan mentioned above. |
We like the "Nasi Goreng" - it'as rice and veggies so we'll usually add some of their frozen shrimp or frozen grilled chicken strips to make it a meal. DH also likes the Garlic Chicken Pasta, though I think it's a little too processed. |
I second the veggie lasagna. I always keep a stash of them at home and work!
|
I really like the frozen Chicken Terriyaki, but I haven't seen it at my TJs (Chevy Chase) in a couple months. Any one seen it there or elsewhere recently? |
Not frozen....but we get the lemon pepper papadelle pasta from TJ's, cook it, mix in one can of tunafish packed in oil (don't drain), add capers and a little fresh lemon. Super yummy! |
If you don't see something at TJ's anymore, you can ask for it and they will bring it back. We LOVE the Tarte d'Alsace (basically pizza with ham, gruyere and onions as a PP mentioned) and it wasn't there for a couple of weeks. I asked about it and it's been back ever since.

Frozen rice (either brown or white) and a can of beans -- add some frozen peas and corn and my kids are totally satisfied! |
