Therapeutic Camps and Insurance

We are considering sending our DC to a therapeutic summer camp this year and of course it is shockingly expensive. Do you submit the costs of the camp to your insurance carrier and, if so, have you had success in getting them reimbursed? Thanks!

My dc went to Dynamite Gymnastics' special camp with Move into Writing OT program last summer. I paid in advance but got receipts at the end of each week with OT codes and my insurance co. accepted them (out of network).

I understand it may be considered "group therapy" and not always covered. You need to check with your insurance first. But, these camps can provide the correct codes. I don't have more info as I am starting to figure this out myself. Also, you may need to have a doctor's/psychologist's recommendation.
