Bangs or no bangs?

Anonymous
I just turned 40 and want to update my hairstyle. I've been toying with the idea of having bangs. My face is round though not fat. I like the idea of bangs to soften my face a bit but afraid of the commitment that is involved with styling them. BTW I have long, thick, straight hair with some layers.

If you have straight hair, bangs should not be that high maintenance. Actually in the morning, you can just wash (in the sink) and style your bangs if needed; unless you feel you need to wash your hair every day (which strips your hair, BTW).

Having bangs depends on your face shape and cut of hair. Some people look much better and some, not so much. Many people look younger with bangs, if that is what you are going for.
