I had a C SECTION....but my tailbone has been hurting off and on for 8 months (the age of the baby).
Recently, like TODAY, the pain is ACUTE. Do I need a x-ray? Where to go? TIA! |

I had two c-sections and didn't have anything like that.
You should probably see an orthapedist. |

Yeah, having your muscles cut and sewed back together can have all sorts of unusual side effects.
It's likely a spasm of a muscle at the insertion point on the tailbone. I had this happen except it was my pubic bone. It was god aweful. It didn't feel anything like a pulled muscle or spasm that you'd get in your back. It was a really dull ache and was very painful if you pushed on it with your hand. Some physical therapy will strengthen the muscles in your core and the spasm will likely resolve. You could also give pilates or yoga a try. I could be off base though so I'm not recommending that you don't consult a doctor too. |

Around a year PP I started having back pain and PT revealed the likely cause is my SI Joint and my piriformis. I have pain in my very lower back which feels almost like pain in my tailbone. The piriformis is basically a muscle in your butt so my butt often hurts (nice when people ask what is wrong with you). The SI Joint holds your hips in place and bc of the hormones of pregnancy, the ligaments that help to hold your hips in place loosen as we all know. Mine are still week so my hips are kind of off.
We're working to strengthen my core and lower back to stabilize my hips/pelvis. Try googling SI joint and piriformis pain and see if it fits with what you are experiencing. I've been an athlete all of my life and I had never, ever heard of either of these! |
PP, where do I go? WHO do I see???? I reaaaaaally want to do the boat pose again!!! THANKS! |
