going rate for day labor?

we live in NOVA (near tyson's) and are planning a pretty sizeable backyard project - building a decorative retaining wall and putting in a drainage system for our yard. Was wondering what the going rate is for day laborers - the work would involve basically digging dirt (trench for the drain - about 100' long, 3-4' wide and 1.5' deep). also, where are the places to find such help these days around the tyson's area?

Usually try near a Home Depot or Lowe's, they always seem to be standing around there. There is a day laborer center in Arlington, near Shirlington (by the hot dog place) but that might be too far for you.

Personallly, I'm always too paranoid to hire day laborers, so no idea what you pay.
