I am in the final month of pregnancy and my back is really strained. Any suggestions on how to ease the pain, i am still working so need to 'try' to function.
Thanks ! |
Upper back? Lower back? |
OP here, mainly upper back.... have a desk job so its tough to sit but necessary since I want to use my leave time once the baby is here and Working from Home not an option ![]() |
can you get a massage? have a DH or a friend rub your back. |
are you stretching that area, and walking? |
I had bad lower back pain before getting pregnant (arthritis in a disk) and it's worsened over the last few weeks (I'm 15 weeks pregnant now). I thought my back would only hurt once I got a belly, but apparently all the moving around in there also affects your back.
I wish I had a good silver bullet for you. The only advice I have is to stay active and keep moving. I find that sitting too long or not enough exercise actually makes my back feel worse. Walks, swimming, and yoga all seem to help me. |

A Chiropractor can really help if it's really bad. Ask your OB to recommend a good one in your area that has experience with pregnant women. Also, you can look up upper back exercises online and try those to stretch and strengthen your back. I also have upper back pain and found switching to a GOOD bra helped. |
