| Our DC was waitlisted, as was everyone else's DC that we know. Does GDS ever just flat-out reject? |
| yes we were rejected. |
| I think I got rejected, applying for 9th grade. Because"we received so many applications for so few spaces, it was not possible to offer admission to many candidates". My grandmother was being optimistic an saying that it could mean I was put on the waitlist, but yeah, It's just a rejection |
| Our letter came with a card that said tell us if you want yo remain on the waitlist. Their new head has twins entering pk. So there go 2 slots. |
This is false. |
| Yeah, you definitely have misinformation. The Head's children already attend GDS and FYI, he does not have twins. Sorry to burst your bubble. But I do understand where you are. My suggestion to you would be to either try again next year or bring them back for third grade, which was when we entered. |
| WTF on the twins' comment?! I am sorry your DC was not accepted, but what BS. And you are wrong - head's kids are already enrolled. |

| Getting back to the original question, is it a real wait list? |
My child received her waitlist letter today, so I have no inside scoop or real experience to help answer this ... but my very close textual analysis of the letter, which involved weighing the nuance of every word and phrase, , suggests that it is a real list that doesn't necessarily move much. That is, it sounds like some kids get offered a seat each year -- but that's across all 12 grades. I rather doubt that there will be much if any movement among PKers, given that there aren't that many seats to begin with.
However, I would love to hear that my bleak assessment is off-base! |
