McLean parents

We are thinking of renting a bigger house in McLean. We are not in the market to buy so this is purely from a rental perspective. What's it like to live there (compared to Arlington)? We LOVE Arlington and I work in DC so the commute has been a dream. But we want more room; have kids; etc. Will we love it? What we miss in Arlington at the moment is a lack of community (since we live in an apt complex). We long for friendly neighbours and a street that might even allow for trick or treaters.

Not sure why you are asking McLean parents if you will miss Arlington. I would ask Arlington parents if they miss McLean, had they lived there, having a point of reference.

I can't tell you about Arlington, but what do you want to know about McLean? I suppose it would depend on the neighborhood. Which are you considering?

We rented in Mclean for a few years and lived in an awesome neighborhood that welcomed us with open arms. I will say that we made most of our friends/sense of community through our kids/preschool/pool, etc.

I've lived in both places and they're so darn close that we don't miss anything about anywhere.
