This video has some weird editing -- it keeps going from nighttime to daytime -- but the filmed events must have really happened. I find it very disturbing.

More than disturbing -- shameful and frightening. |
too lazy and somewhat scared to open the link - what does the video show? |
This. Wow. Just wow. Surprised this is in S Cal. I guess they are really suffering from the economic downturn. Strange because this could be said about the protesters. Their ancestors stole this country from the original inhabitants. Imagine when they are told to go home when Hispanics and Chinese become the majority. |
I feel so incredibly sad for the children in this video that were subjected to such hate. |
That's completely crazy and embarassing. |
Worse than the crowd are the politicians who apparently cheered them on. I hope it was clumsy (or dishonest) editing that made it appear that way. |
It is beyond shameful. I hope this goes viral. The knuckle draggers need to be exposed to the light of day. ![]() |
OMG! This is awful. I'm so shocked that they can scream things like "It's one nation under God, not Allah". They're using their right to assemble and speak freely, but seem to have forgotten that freedom of religion part. WTF is wrong with these people and why are elected officials joining in?
I'm sure this is going to go over well with Muslim countries. I'm ashamed they're representing America. |
I found this bizarre too so I did some googling about it. The city council woman who says her sons would love to take out Muslims says her words were taken out of context and critics of the CAIR video point out that there is a disconnect between the rally earlier in the day and the group of crazy vicious protesters at night. Apparently the rally was aimed at the two speakers who were invited to the fundraiser. I don't know enough to know if the speakers deserve the criticism they got but I'm sure all the politicians who were featured in the film would argue that they have nothing against Muslims, just these two speakers. The city councilwoman argues that she was talking about her son taking out Muslim terrorists, not the people at the fundraiser. And the claim is that the vicious people shown outside the fundraiser were a fringe group of people who happened to show up. On one hand, I think CAIR made a mistake in not clearly identifying the rally as having taken place earlier. On the other hand, I wonder if any of the people who spoke at the rally bothered to tell people that they were only criticizing the speakers and not their Muslim neighbors. I wonder if they ever will acknowledge to themselves how some of their rhetoric encourages the hateful people who yelled at little kids. This video does make me fear for my country. It makes me fear that we will let ignorant hatemongers lead the way rather than standing up for what is right and demanding that all people deserve respect. |
