| Anyone have any insight as to whether the Bella Band is worth the extra $10 or so over the Target Be Band? I'm curvy, if that matters, and the one I had from Motherhood for my last pregnancy crapped out on me early (it would just roll itself up when I moved). Is the Be Band better quality than the Motherhood brand? (seems like almost anything would be better quality than the stuff at Motherhood, but that's another thread...) |
| Can only speak for the Be Band (haven't tried the Bella). I love it. It stays put and holds everything in place. Plus it's worn well through wear and washing. |
| The Bella band is extremely good quality, I would splurge the extra 10 |
| I used two target Be Bands (one white, one black) from about 20 weeks through 39 (now) and think they were the best maternity clothing purchase I made. I don't see any reason to spend anything extra. Go with the Be Band. |

I saw reviews that said the Target brand was the same as the Bella brand, so that's why I opted for it.
But I think if you're having fabric-rolling problems, that's more of a sizing issue than a quality issue. |
| I wish I had known about the Motherhood band. I bought it this weekend, have worn it once, and it is awful!!!!!! It made me look lumpier than ever and rolled around all day - seems like maternity pants would be a better options! To the PP who wore your band through 39 weeks: do you mean with regular clothes? I'm a FTM and am 17 weeks, and I can't imagine not having to wear maternity pants for 22 more weeks (not to mention I'd feel like the band was squeezing the baby). How is this possible, or am I missing something here? |
| How is the sizing of the Be Band? I'm at the upper end of one size on the chart and am wondering if I should order up a size? |
|
I love the band from Target. Got one at about 16 weeks and am still wearing it at 38 weeks. I'm about a size 8 in pre-preg pants size. Got the size small band and it has been perfect. In order to work well, it has to be snug.
Too bad you can't try it on at the store. But you can return it if you decide the size is wrong. I don't wash it that frequently, since its not really next to my skin. And I never put it in the dryer - easy since it air dries super quickly. I think if its washed and dried a lot that it won't keep its shape well. |
| @9:31: It comes in handy to hold up mat pants too. My jeans never stayed up on their own. |

I have both a Bella Band and a Be Band.
My Bella band is black; I used it throughout my first pregnancy and it is still going strong halfway through my second. The fabric is thick and conceals the lumpiness of my pants tops pretty well. the Be Band is white, and I find it a tad translucent and revealing - the fabric is not as thick so you can sometimes see the outline of my belly button and pants. But it's not bad, and it definitely holds everything up as well as the Bella. It is superior to the Bella in one way - it has no tags sticking out, the sizing and care info is printed on the interior in a beige color. That is a plus - the tag on the Bella is irritating. I don't know if the Be Band will be as durable as the Bella, though...it is already starting to pill slightly. |
| They are made by the same manufacturer - Ingrid and Isabel. I have both and I cannot tell the difference between them so I would get the cheaper one at Target! |
| Agreed. I looked at both then bought the black Be Band and love it. I secretly suspect it's just a tube top rebranded for another purpose anyway! |
If you really want something fantastic for keeping your pants up where they belong, try Belly Ups. They really work and are not constricting around your waist, nor do they roll up like Bella Bands. www.bellyups.com

| I have one of each. I wore them both during the first trimester and postpartem. They were both great and since they had a relatively short shelf life in the scheme of my wardrobe, I'd go the cheap route. |
| I wore the target ones throughout pregnancy and postpartum for awhile to hold up my pants. They were great and are still in good shape. I washed they regularly and put them in the dryer. |
