Stupid question about deadlines

If they say applications are due by March 1st, does that mean I have to apply today, or can I wait to bring it in tomorrow and still be ok?

Due by means get it in before Close of Business on March 1.

As a related matter, what happens if you receive an acceptance letter to a school (but not first choice), which requires you to provide a deposit to matriculate by date A (say, March 1)...but you are still waiting to hear from other schools which are supposed to send out notifications after March 1? What have others done?

we put down the deposit to secure our spot in the event our DC doesn't get into any others or doesn't get into any others we like better. Are you talking about Franklin?

Thanks PP. Did you just put down the deposit, or also provide one month's tuition?

We put down the deposit and one month's tuition. School told us that's what's required to hold the spot. Both nonrefundable.

Franklin's 1st month IS refundable if you pull out within 60 days. That is the policy.
