Why no anonymous comments on your navi-gate posts?

I know this is your site and that you can do what you want to do. However, I am curious, why do comments on the posts on the main page, most recently your rallying cry against Kwame Brown, require a name and email to post?

Different software is being used. Just make up fake info. You can even type "Anonymous" as your name and your email as "[e-mail]".

OP here. Sorry Jeff. I just read a little further down and saw that there is a reason for this having to do with software and spambots. That is a good enough reaons for me!

I just modified the comment form to clarify that pseudonyms and fake email addresses are allowed.
