When we bought our new house in 2009, I thought it was so nice and modern that there are no tubs--only stand up showers with glass doors. Then came baby 6 weeks ago. Now we don't know how to bathe him in a tubless house. We are using the Puj tub right now that fits into a bathroom sink, but baby is so big he will soon outweigh that. To top it off, we have a huge single sink in the kitchen, so we can't even use a plastic tub made for a double sink. Any thoughts on what to do would be appreciated.
Thanks!! |
| Even though we have tubs, we always just took our babies (both of them) in the shower with us. So much easier than messing with tubs. |

I would have hated having to take a shower with the baby every time we needed to bathe the baby.
First we used an infant bath tub like this one. http://www.amazon.com/Summer-Infant-Rite-Temp-Baby-Bath/dp/B000G1X13G/ref=sr_1_3?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1298340985&sr=1-3 Then we use one of these blow up baby tubs. We put it in the shower and fill it/empty it there. http://www.amazon.com/Safety-1st-Kirby-Inflatable-Tub/dp/B001MTELJY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1298340834&sr=8-1 We've used a bath seat in the inflatable tub when the baby couldn't sit up yet. http://www.amazon.com/Pink-Aquababy-Bath-Ring-Product/dp/B002OCDA04/ref=sr_1_4?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1298341051&sr=1-4 |

Can you attach one of those hand-held sprays to the shower so you can still use a small bathtub for him?
I LOVE baths and one of my requirements when we move is that the new place either has to already have a soaking tub, or have a bathroom large enough for us to put one in.

| Kitchen sink...put a towel in the bottom if its stainless steel to cut down on the slippery bottom. Or you can use one of those "rubber" mats. |
|
You can also try a bath sling in the sink

| Still bathe our 14 month old in the kitchen sink....saves your back and your water bill! |
| ours prefers the shower to the tub! |
We used the laundry tub. Have great pics of baby baths with huge bottles of Clorox bleach in the background.

Kitchen sink is fine.
I also don't see anything wrong with a shower. |
| Larger and larger "tubs" as baby grows. Install a handheld shower head that you can pull down and spray off baby. Our DS hated showers until he turned 5. So we just have an inflatable tub that gets put into one of the showers in the house. Fill it up, let them splash around and rinse them off with a cup of water if you don't have a adjustable showerhead. |
