This is why I hate Palin and Bachmann and just goes to show how crazed the far right has gotten - that a comment by Michelle Obama that was all about LOWERING TAXES (something Republicans claim to be for) to help encourage breastfeeding would be jumped all over by the other side. Who in the world is NOT in favor of breast feeding and who in the world doesn't think breast feeding is pretty tough (not impossible, but certainly hard) to combine with working outside the home. Even if you're not working FT, you would still need a breast pump for the days you ARE working. With that said, I know many SAH moms that got pumps too since they wanted/needed to ocassionally get out of the house w/o the baby for several hours. |
Bachmann and Palin are disgusting and should be ashamed of themselves, but the chances of that happening are between none and no way in hell. How anyone, but especially women, can continue to support them is beyond baffling. Just another example of people working against their own best interests. |
Just as Palin twisted her anti-obesity campaign into Michelle Obama want to take away our right to eat dessert.
The question is: is she really that stupid that she believes what she says, or does she think Americans are so stupid to believe what she says? |
Breastfeeding is a choice you made because formula is available, irrespective of whether breastfeeding is best. Many people have serious medical problems and not all their expenses are tax deductible. I would go along with tax deductible cover ups for breastfeeding women and this is all. |
Palin was very pro-breastfeeding before Michelle Obama appropriated the idea as her own. Now that it's associated with liberals, it's somehow quite vile. |
Ah, you're one of those people. Put your burkha back on and don't come back until you decide to stop being such a retrograde idiot. |
Just because I don't want to see your boob or and think it is absolutely no problem to cover up, I did it for three children, this means I have to wear a burkha? You are making mean and nasty cracks about Muslim women and the religion and this is called intolerant." I bet you're one of those "all for diversity" and "respecting the beliefs" DCUM MBs who preach diversity and acceptance of difference except when it comes to you and what you want to do. You are what is called a Hypocrite.[b] No matter what, pumps should not be tax deductible anymore than diapers should be. You get a deduction for your child and this takes care of breast pumps, etc. |
PP, you're the one who appears to be in favor of government sanctioned cover-ups for women. Think about it. |
right! that child tax deduction covers it all!! It's the best - I don't even need to pay for food or cloths - the deduction covers the full cost of a child! get real, PP. The deduction is a drop in the bucket and if breast feeding indeed provides health benefits (which many many studies have found to be the case), then why should pumps not be allowed to be deducted? This is not exclusively a WOHM thing either - if your child has latch problems or the child refuses to nurse, you can pump, regardless of whether you're working or not. |
Both of them are HOT..... And they smell good. |
