my kids named my german shepherd "oprah" too. curious as to how this is an issue.

If anyone names a white cow with black spots "Jane" after me, I will be extremely offended. Don't they know white people with freckles are sensitive to this sort of thing?

Unless the cow speaks like mr ed then it has no idea it is being made fun of so I don't see what the problem is.
