This can’t be right - can someone confirm?

Confirmed. PVI was the better team today.

How could BI lose to PVI? How does that happen? If correct, that is a huge win for PVI. Devistating and embarrassing loss for BI.

PVI has better coaching. Agree though, no reason for BI to have lost this game.

It seems that BI faired no better this year than last. Congrats to PVI. What an awesome win.

PVI is not nearly as strong as last year, but still has some talent.

Can’t speak to the loss, have no affiliation to BI at all. But if you follow BI’s social, you will see some amazing sportsmanship, the kinda stuff you never see from other WCAC or ISL teams. They wished luck to SJC and GC luck in yesterday’s championship match before the game, and congratulated GC on the win. We could use a lot more of this.

Agree, so classy. BI just couldn’t win the draw yesterday. That coach made unbelievable strides considering what she was left with a year ago. Congratulations to that team on a great season.

As this season comes to a close, any insights on what schools picked up some good Freshman for next year? GC going to be able to replace their Seniors and go for four in a row?

Extremely difficult (if not impossible) to replace the 2 GC seniors. "Next woman up" with all of their depth. Very strong rising senior class offensively. Rising sophomores and juniors got plenty of run this season. Many started. No idea about their incoming freshmen class.

The 2 senior starters will be tough to replace but they started 5 sophomores and the 1 freshman in goal. They also have the Coppermine goalie coming in. They have 4 other really strong freshmen that saw significant time throughout the year plus a solid 2028 class. 2025 midfielder for GC, as long as she avoids a major injury after what happened in the title game, is a stud.

9 of the 10 starters that are returning were at least 2-year starters so that machine will keep rolling.

I guess it means that the acceptance rate is higher than Potomac's or Sidwell's; maybe a bit higher than Visi's. 1200 applications for 350 spots is not bad for a high school. No clue what it means relative to GC or SR...

That’s a 29% acceptance rate. For 9th grade, Potomac and Sidwell are under 10%, closer to 7%

BI has always been classy. Can we please retire the cheesy pre-draw chant though?? What's next - "Wheel on the bus?" It's embarrassing.

The BI coach is one of the kindest, sincere coaches we’ve ever had. Dd had her for club but wishes she had her for high school

Having heard several people comment on the 2028 recruiting cycle, my impression is SJC has the largest incoming group of club-level players, with SR having a smaller but very talented group coming. Visi seems to have had a down year, which was probably at least partially related to the coaching change and disengaged (outgoing) AD. I live in a Bethesda/Chevy Chase bubble with a high concentration of kids at the schools mentioned, so I unfortunately have less to share regarding the other teams in WCAC and ISL.

SJC will continue to be competitive in WCAC and think they will be back in championship game in the coming years. DCSAA championship will be fun and hope the SJC seniors who have built SJC girl's lax program can go out on top!
