Disposing of unused Pharmaceuticals....

I have quite a few bottles of half used meeds in my cupboard. don't want to flush them.
what should I do with them?

Take them to a pharmacy? I would guess that most pharmacies have some way of disposing of outdated medication.

I've just thrown them in the trash and haven't had an issue.

But if you go to the pHRMA website (pharma industry association), they have a disposal program that is probably the "environmentally correct" way to go.

Please do not flush them into the water supply....the water authorities don't have the ability to filter out these chemicals and then we ALL have to take these meds in our water.

Some doctor's offices have a specific way to dispose of them correctly. you're better off doing it that way.

By throwing it in the trash, animals could get into them. Or children. Or addicts.

Especially if you are in Montgomery County, which incinerates all its trash. No landfills here.
