| There are one or two kids that come over after school that eat us out of house and home. I this normal? They are NOT teens. It is as if their parents don't have decent snack foods, and they want to eat here instead. We serve all types of food BTW, not sugary. Does this sound normal? If it is, that is fine with me. I was just wondering. |
boo!!! why is that? only if it is normal it is fine for you? so if I say it is not normal, it is not fine for you? |
| A kid in our neighborhood used to do this. He would want to play with my son as soon as they got home from school. He wouldn't even take his backpack inside his house; he'd just drop it on the grass, grab his bike and ride over. I then made it a point to say to his mother that my son could play with her son after my son had his after-school snack. I don't know if she feeds him now before he comes out to play, but it at least gives him a chance to get something whereas before he didn't even really have the opportunity. They are both in first grade, btw. I haven't had the problem for a few months. |

Not teens - but old enough to come over by themselves right? So it's not like the parent are intentionally dropping them off hungry?
I remember going to friends homes after school and eating their food was a normal part of it. My parents fed me well - we had a sit down nutricious dinner every night - but my friends family had different food. They ate a ton at my house also. But my friends lived closer to school, so I'm guessing we ate more food there. If the food is getting too expensive, limit the amount they can eat or talk to the mom about giving the kid a snack before they come over. |
