Food, Cooking, and Restaurants
| DD's college team will be in town rowing vs. G'town. We're not wealthy and our house is too small to host a team dinner. Most restaurants are too expensive to host about 35 people. Anyone know of any party rooms for rent in DC? Other ideas anyone? |
| Buca Di Beppo? |
| Or carmine's? |
| It's OP -- I'm not familiar with those 2 places -- are they in DC itself? |
|
Yes, the first is on Connecticut near Dupont Circle.
The second is on 7th Street in Penn Quarter. I was going to say Maggiano's in Friendship Hts. All are family style Italian. |
| Guapo's in Tenley also does groups. |
| Upstairs at Guapos is a great idea. |
| Maggiano's in Friendship Heights. They're accustomed to large groups and the service is very good. |

takoma park maryland has some rec centers that they rent out, could also try dc rec centers.
Maggiano's will be pretty expensive, $30 to $50 per head in order to use the private upstairs rooms. It would be cheaper to rent a rec center type place, and bring in carry out. do you have a church that you go to, where you could rent a room? |
| Try the Hippodrome at GWU--I think they'll rent space to non-university people. |

If you can drive off campus, take them to Listrani's in Palisades and order a bunch of pizzas, a few big salads for sharing, and pitchers of iced tea/ beer for the tables. There also must be a casual pizza joint in G-town. Anywhere you go, call ahead bc that is a very large group! Very nice of you to take them all to dinner!!

| We had our rehearsal dinner years ago at Pizzeria Paradiso on M Street in Georgetown. They have a basement room for private parties with a fireplace. It was really casual and really fun - apps, pizza, salads, drinks. |
| OP again -- thanks for the great suggestions everyone. |
