ISO - Good places to stay in London with a 1.5 year old and a 6 year old

Hello,

My family and I are thinking about going to London for a spring break (mid April).
Could you please recommend good areas to stay in London?
I would like to get to a hotel easily if kids get tired.

When we went a few years ago, we stayed in a Sheraton across the street from the Mandarin, in the Knightsbridge area. We loved the location - easy walk to the Tube, Hyde Park, and lots of little coffee places and restaurants (plus a lot of good shops!). Plus the hotel is high and round so kids would probably think that is cool
