bullying

My kids are still young -- my oldest is in 3rd grade -- but with all the media attention to bullying these days, I was wondering if people have seen it be a problem. If so, when -- is it more of a middle school thing? Have schools and teachers been helpful in resolving? Any suggestions for making kids bully-proof?!?

I have seen it with 1st and 2nd graders.

I agree with PP. I haven't really seen it with kindergarten, but it does start in first grade. Also, I think the middle schools are better at dealing with it because they recognize that it occurs and acknowledge it. Elementary schools like to pretend little kids don't bully.
