My son is currently at Farquhar, but I am not happy. Any opinions? |
The kids at our ES feed into both White Oak and Farquhar. Most parents try to get their kids into Farquhar, so I'm surprised, but intersted, to see that you are unhappy. For those that don't have kids in White Oak, there is this weird trepidation about the school. I'm sorry that it's not working for your son. |
We attended and switched to private. Way to large (>200 in most grades) for my kids to succeed. Good luck. |
Can OP elaborate on what they don't like about this MS? I am looking to buy in the Olney area and it would be great to have more info. Thanks! |
I live in a part of Olney that feeds into Farquhar. I don't have kids there yet, but everyone I speak to that does seems to be very happy.
The principal is new this year and I haven't heard much about her. The school is undergoing renovation in the next few years and I know they are trying to figure out where to place the kids while it is being redone. |
Hi, OP here. I am not happy because there seems to be a lot of bullying and the kids use very bad words (particularly the F word). Is this normal in every middle school. The academics are ok, but there are not many opportunities for sports and extracurricular activities. I am not very happy at all. |
Bad words are definitely normal in middle school. It's not Farquhar. Also, bullying is a problem in middle school. You aren't going to go anywhere where these things don't occur. The real question is how the school deals with it. |
