Related note, did anyone ever hear back on Super Y for wither MYS or Brave? Is that not going on or did they only contact the players for whom they wanted to offer spots?

I have not and daughter was on the team last summer.

Thanks, are you a Brave parent? Another poster said MYS offers went out before. We are Brave for the record.

At least some Brave Super Y offers went out. My daughter was one and I heard about another 8-10 players.

I love this for the Brave parents, meeting anonymously on this forum to find out more information about their club!

The fact that every parent in America only cares about elite soccer because it's just a pathway to collegiate soccer. Yep.

This x1000. Any sense that this should be "fun" or provide a growth experience is thrown out the window at even the youngest ages. The parents are angling for college from the get-go, and the clubs milk this for all it's worth, treating the players as commodities to be traded, exported, imported. The result is a corrupt, soulless system that feeds trolls and a-holes.

This is accurate.

I was a little disappointed when my now senior DC decided to give up the opportunity of playing soccer in college. Now I realize that my kid has higher expectations. A footballer is not his role model. Do not stress over youth soccer, as if this was the only great thing to do.

Like any other club operated differently when it comes to offers.
I have not and daughter was on the team last summer.

Like all clubs don’t operate like this regarding offers.
I have not and daughter was on the team last summer.

Anonymous wrote:How many girls are being rostered for ECNL teams at Union? How do they determine who plays in the matches?

Next year expect inflated rosters. Playing time will vary based on the coach. Expect many players to self select out in year 2.

Could be but you can only dress 18.

Why would the roster be more than 18 then?

McLean/VA Union ECNL carries rosters of well over 18 in most age groups for boys and girls. Only 18 can be rostered on game days. The rest sit.

BRAVE does not do this - no huge rosters with more players than can actually dress and play. It’s always the same team at every practice and game.

Not everyone can cut it.
It's much easier to stick to academics and become a lawyer or accountant than a top level soccer player.
