Hey you hateful bozo, Your first link SPECIFICALLY says the participants were not part of Rolling Thunder. No patience to bother with your second link. Try again, fool. |
You may speak for yourself. |
“Olds”? Show a little respect you brat. |
Holy crap calm down with the raging, bro. WTOP article was "updated" and originally did not include that info. If your anger is representative of RT, it's not a good look. |
The DC hate culture if you aren't black? Miller pointed to lack of support from the Pentagon and metropolitan police department. What has the pentagon EVER been pro-black. |
The vets didn't have a choice. They didn't make the decision to go to war. Rolling Thunder isn't about pretending that the Vietnam war was a noble cause. It's acknowledging what the vets who were forced into this war were wronged on so many fronts. They were maimed and tortured in Vietnam, and then came home to be spat on as if they were the ones making the decisions. Your attitude continues the injustices they've had to endure. |
I'm liberal and don't hate them. I hate the inconvenience, but am willing to deal with it because I think their message is worth in inconvenience. |
Are you gleeful about 4 people's deaths? |
+1. Many vets agree that the war was a mistake. All veterans lost people they cared about in Vietnam- so they carry that loss of human life personally. It’s is not about whether or not the war was worth it. It’s about showing respect and compassion for human beings who fought and died for our country, many of them just teenagers. Some have never been brought home. They had no choice but to go, and they went, and we owe them respect for that service. |

Ah, I guess this is what we saw this past weekend out in Shenandoah—there were big groups of bikers at almost every overlook, and we couldn’t figure out why. Some were wearing Trump t-shirts. We are visible minorities and didn’t feel comfortable stopping near them.
We live in DC, although a suburbanish NW neighborhood, so haven’t heard any bikers. I guess too bad it’s ending but seems it’s to be expected given the age of the attendees. |
Is the recognition of those who went through the holocaust dated? The MIA are quite old, but their families have not moved on emotionally. We also should use what happened in Vietnam as a caution of what we should never let happen again. |
+1 Not all vets and bikers are Trump supporters, either. |
+1 This is a message that it out there to divide us. I’m a very strong supporter of vets and POW/MIAs. And not all bikers and veterans are Trump supporters. |
| As a former Crystal City resident, I'm glad this is over and done with. They were rude on the road and practically spoiling for fights in local restaurants from what I personally saw, heard and experienced over the four years I lived there. If you can't be safe and courteous on the roads and in public places and businesses, you aren't a good representative of any group, or any cause. |

I admittedly skipped the middle page of threads. I live in DC and honestly hadn’t realized before this year they rode through DC. So it’s not that big of an annoyance or inconvenience. I also generally dislike motorcycles, but caught part of the ride downtown yesterday and thought it was really cool. All were riding normally and waved and honked as they passed the crowd.
It seems like most of their complaints were about the pentagon, but DC has recently required large events to pay for salt trucks to block streets from those who might drive into crowds. They are thousands of dollars and at least one event I have personal knowledge if cancelled because it was no longer financially feasible. Two others shut down this year and I suspect it’s a similar reason. I wonder if the large area they shut down created a large city bill. |
