Oh geez, people actually live in Crystal City? I'm so sorry OP, but that really doesn't sound ideal.

Have you been to CC recently? It’s hopping.

Congrats, OP!

Congrats OP! I lived in that area the first year I was in DC also. The convenience can't be beat, you'll have short commutes and everything you need at your fingertips. I hope it's a good place to settle for a year or two while you get to know the area better and make long term decisions.

Welcome to the area! If you ever want recommendations on things to do with kids or trips to take in the area please feel free to post, there are a lot of helpful people here. You just have to ignore the sad mean ones

There are some fun playgrounds near Crystal City.

Kind of an odd choice otherwise, not really sure what the appeal was.

I think it is, which is a 7/10 on GS. I don't know what others are squawking about.

What an odd choice. You were so concerned about gifted programs for your 6 year old, and chose that school zone.

+1 Oakridge is a great school. Overcrowded right now but the 2019 boundary change when Fleet comes online will relieve that and homes in Crystal City are highly unlikely to be zoned elsewhere.

Really great parks through there. Lots of shopping. Close to metro. Good schools.
Great choice OP!
