Republican Party Abandoning Trump Train Wreck

Anonymous
Funny how the Trump supporters from the first page of this thread have dried up. I was a centrist independent and became a Democrat as the center moved to the right. I'd be delighted to find a viable center left party, but I cannot imagine that emerging from the wreckage of the gop.

well, that's not surprising given that Trump wants to abolish the EPA.

Well, yes, but there are 11 pages of other Republicans who were not in charge of the EPA.

The Republican National Committee is now threatening to abandon Trump.

[GOP chairman Reince Priebus] had a frank message for the nominee, according to two Republican officials briefed on the call. Priebus told Trump that internal GOP polling suggested he was on track to lose the election. And if Trump didn’t turn around his campaign over the coming weeks, the Republican National Committee would consider redirecting party resources and machinery to House and Senate races.

Trump denies the exchange ever took place. “Reince Priebus is a terrific guy,” Trump told TIME. “He never said that.” Priebus could not be reached for comment. But whatever the exact words spoken on the phone, there is no doubt that the possibility Republicans will all but abandon Trump now haunts his struggling campaign.

Of course Trump lives in a fantasy bubble of non-reality, so he denies the conversation ever took place. But it's clear to anyone who's watching that the GOP is about to cut Trump loose and let him sink to the depths. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Trump has lost the election. It's now just a question of how many House and Senate seats he takes with him.

Since I have to vote for a democrat for president, I'll vote for any republican house/senate members on my ballot to make up for it. I'm sure other republicans are thinking the same way.

Interesting idea, but I doubt that's going to be the widespread effect. More likely you will see depressed turnout for R's. And that will hurt downballot candidates more than the people who are doing the "making up for" thing that you're talking about.
But since the uneducated part of the electorate has lost its damn mind, predicting things in this election is probably folly.

I think that's fine as long as the approach of Congress is not obstructionist as it has been. We need diversity in perspectives, and we also need a cooperative and PRODUCTIVE Congress. If that can happen, I will be ecstatic, whether people are R's or D's.

"Any"? That's really troubling.

I think we all expect Republicans to vote for Republicans.

That's certainly what David Duke is counting on!
