It was a lot closer to b but at this point if I posted the quote, I'd likely out myself...although another person heard it too.

along the lines of the current overtly racist anti-Key posts on MONA?

Please share here with us plebes in SArl since we can't gain access to your exclusive mommy club.

It was just one mom and she did not appreciate the backlash for her comments.

Good to know there was backlash at least. I know plenty of moms down here that would dance an f'ing jig if their kids could go to Key.

Why, exactly?

SOUTH ARLINGTON LIBERATION ARMY

Because a south Arlington mom, walkin' down the Pike, would notice some weird dude's junk.

Because Claremont is out of space and some people value the dual immersion model and the socioeconomic diversity that it affords, but due to SB choice program admission policies, which give preference to some neighborhoods over others, they are shut out of this "choice" program.

Yep, only kids from oakridge, Abingdon and Boston hoffman can go to claremont anymore. The 8 other school zones who are in the claremont zone get to pound sand.

SB James Lander thinks that is just fine to keep it that way. He said so at a PTA meeting full of angry parents. He could care less that a large number of kids have no access to immersion (even though county advertises thst it does).

My kid goes to claremont. The yard is a disgrace. She has to wear jeans to school to protect her legs from the ground. And still, the rocks have cut up her clothes and shoes. Whole place is a weedy ugly mess.

OMG. I'm just catching up on the MONA posts from today and her comments were horrible. Hope she gets the boot.

Don't you be worrying about MONA.

We got us SALA (south Arlington liberation army)
Instead of luluemon and uggs we wear target/kohl's and whatev's was in the clearance aisle at dsw.

I haven't seen a pair of Uggs on a North Arlingtonian sfh-dweller since, like, five years ago. Enjoy Columbia Pike!

Yeah, my preschool drop-off observation is that plenty of MONA's still wear Uggs. They may not be de rigueur, but they are practical on cold winter mornings. Enjoy Lee Hwy!

Mom #1: any changes to the admissions process for Key/Claremont?
Mom #2: Key sucks and you should send your kid to Science Focus instead.
Mom #3: Key is great and that's not how the boundaries work.
Mom #2: oh you must be Hispanic so that's why you need Key. I am looking for a school that is *good with Math*.
Moms #4+++: Key is great. Diverse is great. Bilingual is great. You can (gasp) speak two languages AND be good with math. Go away, Mom #2.

Something like that. Mom #2 has posted other insensitive comments in the past so hopefully this was enough to kick her out.

It's cool. SALA sells a knock for all of the plebes livin' below 50.
They can be purchased on the corner by the water treatment plant on S. Glebe.

They're called FUGGS.

VIVA SALA!

Yes- Mom #2 is off her rocker. She almost got kicked out earlier this year for posting a random rant, basically blaming the Obama administration for the road conditions in Arlington County during the snow storm. It is one mom, not anything widespread in MONA. (She would actually fit in very well on DCUM though.)

Yeah - I'm pretty sure she must be a DCUM troll based on her comments and writing style.

I really did enjoy the Obama is responsible for road conditions in Arlington tread.
In terms of the anti-Key rant- what got me the most is that Mom #2 wouldn't give it up. She wasn't attacked until she kept on going with comments like, you must be hispanic and your kids need a bilingual education, to bad they won't learn english, and we are not part of the hispanic culture and I wouldn't want my son exposed to that.
