| So I guess the school is not equipped to have classes without the Chromebooks. So much for 50% of the class time spent computer free! |
Is this real?? |
| Okay, PP was joking, right? |
you know you can log into google classrooms on any computer, tablet or smart phone, right? Maybe your kids will try to convince you luddites that they can't so they don't have to do their homework.
|
| What's the percentage of kids wearing glasses? I'm sure it will sky rocket once they reach 8th grade. |
Security breach, it's real. |
That's one downside. Another is the constant need to replace outdated hardware and software$$$$$$$ |
They can't hold school if the computers don't work. Who is teaching - teachers or computers. So much for the smoke they blew up the PP's ass about 50% class time on computers. No way is this real. Will never think again about this school if it is. |
NP with no dog in this fight. The school appears from their website to be closed for a Professional Development Day, not because of what happened with Chromebooks. |
Ahh yes, that is right. |
| I asked. Not a security breach (love how dcumers just make stuff up). Vendor upgrade resulted in security software being less effective. Rather than send kids home for a long weekend (Teacher PD on Friday) with open access to the internet, the school opted to collect Chromebooks because the problem happened at the very end of the school day. Sounds responsible to me! |
Current 6th graders are reporting they have no real books. |
| DCI is not the only school that allows personal cell phone use during lunch and breaks. Some even allow it during class time! WIS is an example. Its a fact of their life now and rather than fight it, we could help them learn balance and the responsible use of it. |
| So, how can you conduct a class computer free for 50% without Chromebooks? I assume 50% means discussion/group work? Are the computers put away when they are not being used? |
No joke. Computer hack. |
