Please post McMansion pictures here!

Pershing Drive in Arlington. Same guy built both. I think he's a restaurant owner and lives in the white one. His neighbors objected to the McMansion construction, so he bought them out and built the brick/stone facade monstrosity next door. My soul weeps every time I drive by these two.

This is interesting.

Whoever posted this has picked up on a few elements of a typical mcmansion, but then posted a picture of the source of those elements!

This house is lovely. Wouldn't change a thing.

This is one ugly ass old mcmansion

Can one of the defenders of these homes explain to me why the huge expanse of siding on the side has so few windows in it?

The guy who built that is a professor of antiquities at GW. The Arlington neighborhood fought for years for a stop work order and then to have it demolished. But the professor persevered, as it was his dream house. It took something like five years to build.

Did he have a shrink ray installed on the roof too or is it really that much bigger than the neighbors?

I never realized that front and center garages were so horrible. Growing up in the SW I am pretty sure it would be impossible to find a house without a front and center garage. Regional differences I guess.
