What "race to nowhere"? Most of the schools around the DC area have been gravitating toward the opposite end of the spectrum, graduating a huge percentage of kids who can barely read or do math. And professors around the area even bemoan some of the underpreparedness of kids coming from the supposedly "better" college prep schools. It's actually a refreshing change to see an opportunity for kids to actually be well prepared for college and the future. Of course, it may not be for everyone, and nobody's forcing it on anyone. If what you consider to be the "race to nowhere" isn't for you, you are welcome to take the other path, one guaranteed to lead to nowhere but with a lot fewer expectations - DCPS. |
