I simply do not except that Koreans are fundamentally smarter than other ethnic groups. I do not doubt that, based on SOUTH KOREA's emphasis on IQ testing, the South Koreans probably do better on the IQ tests, because they prep for it, but it does not make them genetically smarter (or practically smarter), just the measure looks smarter.

There is a great control group, if you had access to them: Ethnically, North Koreans are identical to South Koreans.

What I'm finding amazing is the willingness to reach incredibly racist conclusions when arguing for genetic superiority of Asians.

Not to trigger "Godwin's Law" or anything, but isn't that exactly the same sort of argument that was made in connection with 1930s eugenics?

IQ test itself is controversial in a way, but NO, Koreans are careless about IQ tests because it's never used anywhere.
In US it's used here and there (entrance to AAP, or other GT programs).
In Korea, IQ score is never used anywhere, it's all academic tests.
Absolutely no prep even available for that, and people are careless.
And yes North Koran average IQ is as high as South Korea.

The source you supply is not reputable. Furthermore, it is easy to sway such studies. For example, if country A is the average IQ of all people, and country B is the average of all people in HS (but only those in HS passed the admittance test), then B will have a higher IQ because it is based on a pre-selected sample set.

I have no doubt that there are smart Koreans.

It is also clear that IQ is something attributed to people by their genes and it can not be altered through culture or education. Asians and white Caucasians are the smartest human races on earth. Ok.. as a Korean American I am embarrassed by all these posts on IQ. There are smart people of all races and just from experience I don't think Koreans have higher IQ's. Growing up I actually thought all my South Asian friends (Indian .. Pakistani) were smarter. They all became doctors.. I, on the other hand, was not accepted into any medical schools and went on to law school.

No doubt there are smart Indians, Africans, Hispanics etc...

Yes, and here is a link to Lynn's actual data table -- http://www.rlynn.co.uk/pages/article_intelligence/t4.asp -- which indicates he has no data on North Korean IQs, but instead just averaged the estimated IQs for South Korea and Japan. He seems to do that averaging trick for over 100 of the 185 countries listed. Perhaps not the most scientifically robust approach, huh? I guess it works well if your goal is to argue that certain regions/races are superior to others.

What grade?
3 hours of study and 2 hours of Ice Hockey/Tae Kwon Do each day sounds little too mcuh.
The kids may get burned out eventually, but you know better about your kid.

Self-motivation & self-discipline is very important, too.
When they are in college, you won't be there to turn off the TV for them.
I'm sure you already know it all, and again you know your kid the best.

I like that...argue the people from north Korea have the same iq as south Korea by citing a study....which had no data for the north, so, used the data from the south. Whoever wrote that post clearly is not Korean and must be from Africa
