| Can anyone who attended Capital Cotillion this season post on how things went? |
| they have only had one dance so far... |
| I understand they are looking for more boys. |
How many boys are there now? |
|
Maybe around 40?
It's hard to tell in a big room. |
| It depends on the age and site. For the Maryland site, they are looking for 5th/6th grade girls - the ratio is almost 2:1 boys. For the DC site, I hear it's more balanced at that age. |
That's alot. So it has to be more than just Beauvoir boys at this event. |
| The boys I recognize are from the local public schools. |
| It's way more than Beauvoir (or STA), although those are highly represented. |
Any minorities? |
Some. |
| Two points re Capital Cotillion: It is more about etiquette in the service of kindness than anything else. Everyone gets asked to dance, no one is overlooked, and sometimes the girls ask the boys. They also offer financial aid. |
| Is the Cotillion season only in the Fall and early Winter? |
| I'm not sure I'd call it a "season", but they have six sessions between late September and late March/early April. Each session lasts 75 minutes. |
