Can we discuss the cost of competitive sports?

Two 12 yos. One plays travel soccer at about $3500 a year, the other plays AAU year-round bball for about the same. They both do lots of other rec sports, camps, etc that may add up to a couple thousand more.

I think you’ll find people paying 10K plus for one kid’s specialized sport here and there, but the vast majority of kids playing competitive team sports see fees from 3-5K.
