It was so embarrassing. Patel is all about sensationalism and posturing which is why he can’t keep actual facts straight.

I think there are multiple reasons as to why he can't keep his facts straight.

I will preface this by saying this would also be absolutely terrible, but I wonder if whoever this awful, deranged shooter is conflated the guardsman with ICE? (Again, not saying that would be in any way justified!)

There is just so much more rancor about ice it feels like with guardsmen most people understand these are kids with literally no choice but to go where they are sent.

Interesting thought. Yeah, I hope that isn't it. Could be though as a) there is enough "rancor" as you put it, and b) people are really stupid and conflate these roles.

He screws up everything he is involved in - remember the incompetence shown after Kirk’s killing? And he wastes our money with taxpayer funded protection for his girlfriend and personal use of government planes. He is a perfect embodiment of the Trump administration combination of incompetence and grift.
