Am writing in from Bethany this minute.
Very nice. Definitely far different experience from Ocean City.

HAHAHA!! Nice, we're also in Bethany right now and I came here to say Bethany.

Bethany with the 20 foot wide beach and wall to wall snoots?!
No thanks.

We relocated to Lewes, DE after the pandemic. Much slower pace of life, quite bay beaches which are perfect with young kids, bike paths, and easy access to state park with ocean access (to avoid Rehoboth craziness in summer)--- great restaurants and much more year-round than Bethany and Rehoboth that close up a lot of the winter. If you can stay on the East side of route 1, even though prices are higher, it is much easier to get to beaches and avoid traffic.

Hatteras island is a pristine National Seashore.

Enough said.

I love Hatteras but I can only imagine the insurance rates!

Would like it to be no more than 3-3.5 hrs from Baltimore with moderate traffic. Does such a place even exist? We've looked at Ocean City, it's too congested and not particularly relaxing. Would love to hear if anyone has a vacation spot around here that they love.

No such thing

And its full of poo.

What DCL has some of the best water quality and is a clean lake. It's fed by underground mountain springs. https://eyesonthebay.dnr.maryland.gov/dcl/DeepCreekLake.cfm

Love Hatteras -- but even if you buy, you're renting.

This is a dumb response.

Looks like PP above is a jerk with a reading comprehension problem.
