I have given lectures at a very established CCRC in Richmond ‘that has a full, beautiful auditorium. They have chamber music concerts, dance peformances, lectures, plays, all kinds of events etc. groups go on world travel. It’s where old rich people in Richmond go. But there’s a very long wait list and buy in and it’s not corporate/PE owned. My mom went to one of those typical assisted living places that changed directors (and owners) every few months and ultimately when I had to move her to memory care, the non profit was far better;and more expensive) than the PE owned establishments. |
Kensington Bethesda sales team also sucks. They would not give me a price. Seemed very shifty. |
| The Villages at Rockville is a nice facility with graduated care |
| In Montgomery County, the “nicest” memory cares are at The Preston or The Carnegie. Beautiful floors and amenities. Not sure about how great the care is though. |
| For sheer number of activities and luxury, check out The Fitzgerald of Palisades in DC. That's where I want to go, if I inherit several million dollars. https://www.kiscoseniorliving.com/signature/fitzgerald/?gclid=CjwKCAjw5s_QBhAdEiwADD_gBg0VwcVQkfW5LTvwRWoe9h0jBxZrAjC1TAqks83km2zAn5lyuMs6RxoC_QgQAvD_BwE&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=22937171516&utm_content=&utm_term=&hsa_acc=9884709045&hsa_cam=22937171516&hsa_grp=&hsa_ad=&hsa_src=x&hsa_tgt=&hsa_kw=&hsa_mt=&hsa_net=adwords&hsa_ver=3&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23389209027&gbraid=0AAAAACmiv1DgMJWSDzyhN76xfI-nmt1j4&gclid=CjwKCAjw5s_QBhAdEiwADD_gBg0VwcVQkfW5LTvwRWoe9h0jBxZrAjC1TAqks83km2zAn5lyuMs6RxoC_QgQAvD_BwE |
A million will only buy you a couple of years in memory care there. |
I would like to off myself before memory care becomes necessary. |
| Inspir Embassy Row is incredible. 2100 Massachusetts Ave.NW |
That wasn't our experience. We were given pricing information early on when discussing a unit for a parent with them. |
