Sounds like she cannot keep her story straight, people found a lot of direct contradictions/lies in what she said. Said she's only ever sent him 10 emails, but has 6 email addresses and 4 different phones.

And yet she wasn't deserving of such a show without warning or compensation. The rest of the show was lies. I hope she gets good legal counsel.

What was lies?

Who’s angry?

If we needed a story about druggie sex wannabes we all know where to look.

I feel bad for anyone on the newbie comedian circuits

Well clearly there are people who were interested in this individual’s life story - even if you want to just write him off as a “druggie sex wannabe”. Because people that have been abused aren’t allowed to share their story unless they’re the perfect victim living a perfect life?

That’s exactly the thing: was he a chronic victim or was he chronically sabotaging himself.

We will never know.

The stalker already spoke up that she didn’t do the magnitude of stalking

The “abuser” already spoke up that their drugs, anal and oral was consensual.

And then there’s the Netflix contract.

Time will tell if this guy is a one trick pony or turned his life around or will continue to self-sabotage.

Enjoy!

The lead guy in the show is just gross.

The accents were fun though.

Or maybe he will continue to self-sabatoge (if that's what he's doing) and still at the same time have more professional success. Sharing the human experience isn't just for perfect heros that overcome all adversity and thrive in the way you think they should. Maybe he has his own mental health issues, maybe the experiences he perceived as abusive and coercive (whether they meet the legal definition of rape) caused all sorts of trauma that hasn't been resolved or is maybe unresolvable for him. And yet he still has a right to share his life story and financially gain from it and that doesn't make him a "bad" person - it makes him one that has figured out a path to success in one area even if he's still struggling in others

I found his ability to understand and analyze his past behavior and experience really fascinating. I'm amazed some people don't seem to be gaining any insight into the experience of some individuals whose lives aren't like theirs. Even on its most basic - why some people that experience sexual assualt then become hypersexual or how people get sucked into wanting to "save" someone they have empathy for even if that person is damaging to interact with

An accused stalker with mental health issues isn't a very reliable narrator. She could not keep her story straight and came off totally unhinged.

I've not read about the abuser speaking up. I too would be concerned - dude seemed to take the drugs willingly, but if he was actually passed out from GHB anything that happened was not consensual. But, it does sound like something a rapist would say.

I dont really care what his personal opinion is for why he did a series of F’d up, risky behaviors and poor decisions for years. He has no credibility.

Similarly I don’t walk into a mental asylum or prison and expect the truth nor accuracy nor self awareness.

I especially don’t buy that it was his “empathy” that drove his poor decisions and behaviors. Give me a break! It was more likely a combo of boredom, curiosity, lack of goals, joy of extreme risk-taking, lack of planning, lack of values, and lack of sense of self. He was supposedly 25 yo.
Was he neglected or something for 21 years?

Where is any of his family parents or siblings or friends during any of this?

This is an up and leave the city type of situation.

Left out that part.

Anonymous wrote:Anyone watching this? Seems like a good DCUM show so I’m surprised there’s no thread. I’m almost done with the series. The acting is fantastic and the writing is easy to follow and realistic. I highly recommend it.

I’ve done three episodes, don’t understand why he’s falling for such a sob story, why he did dating a trans website, why he’s not informing the police after the carpet bombing of emails and in person stalking.

Maybe there have been a couple foreshadowed questions from a couple characters, alluding to abuse or serious trauma as a child. But the fat lady is clearly insane and potentially violent.

None.

He brought it all on himself.

He likely had untreated mental disorders and never should have moved far from help.

HAS mental disorders.

Weird he confesses all kinds of gross unhealthy stuff in his adult life but doesn’t touch on any mental disorders, diagnoses, therapy, or treatment plans.

If wants to be a hero to the sexually abused Queer community he should start addressing that in his interviews.

If he wants to continue his wreckless lifestyle, now with more money, he can continue to say nothing about mental health.

Excellent points.

He has not touched upon his mental disorders or treatment.
