Private & Independent Schools
Then what are the numbers now? |
BIM doesn't release those numbers. They are SECRET. They only release bits and pieces of performance metrics that make them look good. How convenient. Numbers of staff turnover would really suck if people saw them in black and white. FWIW, the school opened in 2016, so this was their fourth school year. The number crashed more after 2019-2020 because of more mismanagement then slowly rebounded since then. Just once, I'd like to see a school official come on here and quote some numbers they would stand behind. What a clown show. |
Don’t know about officials coming on here (never heard of that for any school), but based on a newsletter on ParentSquare and on Niche, it’s 588 for this year. |
You are disgusting |
593 based on ParentSquare |
People here just bias. Don’t waste time here. |
The former employee just won’t let it go. No patents from any schools would call kids like this. |
Yes. 5 got admitted by TJ this summer only one accepted. 4 out of 5 stay at BASIS. |
How does a prospective parent access ParentSquare? How many names on that platform are school and company staff, not students? Why doesn't the school just put the info on its home page like many other schools? It's really not hard to make this info open to all, especially grade by grade data that PS clearly lacks. |
You mean like this? I don't see the grade by grade data, but plenty of other stats out front on the main website. https://www.sidwell.edu/about |
Not PP but what’s the big deal here? Google Basis Independent Mclean and there are are 3rd party websites that will tell you the number. Don’t believe it? Call the school, tell them you’re a prospective parent wanting to know (at least for a particular grade or primary/middle/high school) and they will tell you. Still don’t believe them? Schedule a tour and count the the students yourselves (at least for the grade you’re interested in). We did the latter 2 earlier this year and had no problems getting answers. Is your problem about the school trying to keep it a secret or that they just don’t broadcast it in the same way some other schools may? |
If they publicized it like other schools do, the school's chaotic enrollment and management since it opened would there for all to see. Better to cherrypick a few favorable stats and hush up the rest. Why should I have to call the school and lie to get basic data that other schools display up front? |
I guess maybe that’s the real point here. You shouldn’t lie about being a prospective parent. But if you’re not a prospective parent (or current parent, I doubt it), why are you looking for all those stats? For those that have a legitimate reason to want to know, it’s ridiculously easy to find out. |
|
So unless you are going to write a big check to the school, there is no "legitimate" reason to have data metrics that are provided by all other reputable private schools in the area? Even then, I am unlikely to get data beyond one grade or section of the school. And the only third party data cited on these threads was years out of date. It's about the management and integrity of the school. Since they are a public business asking for people's money, commenting on their performance is fair game under our free speech system. BIM people just don't like it when the secrecy, spin, and contradictions that have always marked their management style are brought to light. They don't like it when the rah-rah spin from the school is contrasted with other data and information that is known about the school. Then the personal attacks start again. I expect more will follow here soon. It's a thing for them. |
