Advice - Moving to Bethesda

Here we have one parent (who sounds reasonable tbh) admitting they are on the 07 team, calling out another parent on that team. If he is as crazy as he sounds he obviously reads these boards. Eh, at the ecnllevel no parents like each other. see thread calling out a miserable team manager. A whole thread was devoted to that. this is just a comment

Not true and not true.

1. The 07 that played up with the 06s didn't shop around. The one you are talking about with the crazy dad is an 07 that plays on age. They did shop around everywhere and were turned down due to the dad's approach...

2. The 07 from Armour is very good but was not the top player. The top player there just got an invite to US Regional Camp.

What is the "dad's approach"? I'm curious what these parents are out there doing as we stay generally quiet, but try and understand what is going on.

07 Parent called coaches at other clubs routinely asking them why has his daughter not been asked to join their team. Went to other clubs games and watched while a sister Bethesda team was playing on the adjacent field, etc. Will say his daughter is talented and a good kid. Just the dad thinks she is USWNT worthy. Cookoo. The other crazy dad took his DD to 07 Loudoun team. Thats about the extent of crazy parents. We have heard rumors of our new player and her mother but have not yet seen those type of actions.

We will have a very good team and yes, right there with FCV and Mclean but no to whoever said we would make National finals.

Haha. Yeah. New player and her mom are something else. Seems to have calmed down a bit the last year or two but if her best friend comes along and those two moms are teamed up watch out.

And the 07 dad- all true above but forgot to mention he makes his daughter cry after EVERY SINgLe GAME. Right there at the field for all to see.

BSC = Abusive Coaches + Crazy Over-the-Top Parents

Based upon this, why would the OP or anyone for that matter want to join BSC or even move to live in Bethesda?

I can’t speak about crazy Bethesda parents but I’ve heard numerous times DG, KL and ET yelling/screaming at their players.

Hence, at least half of the equation above is true.

Multiple crazy parents at a club? oh my!! par for the course. I would say the 07 bsc team seems to have more than their fair share but what do I know we are not there. I will say, i do know one of the crazy dads (seems like there are multiple) and crazy tall guy did not do his daughter any favors trying to get her on our team. coaches smell that a mile away and while they may suck it up if the kids is worth it, in our case it wasnt

Been part of multiple clubs in the DMV with our kids. BSC parents are by no means the craziest. In fact, they’re some of the most collegial that we’ve experienced in travel soccer, minus one or two overzealous ones per team. It’s the coaches that are a deal breaker in this organization.

I’ve read on here that Bethesda have a U8 boys team that plays in a U9 league. Does anyone know what league it is?

Probably NCSL. This is not uncommon for clubs in the area.
