First signs of partial molar pregnancy?

Can't catch a break I guess.

So sorry OP. Sending you lots of love! I had a miscarriage last October @ 9 weeks (literally pregnancy loss day in pregnancy loss month...could not appreciate the irony at the time - no heartbeat) and now my second baby is due a week or so before I lost my little baby last year (I think it was a molar too). It can certainly be a long road and every road looks different, but I hope that you have your baby. If you have 1 (like I did) or 2 or none at home, this loss is never easy...

Thanks! No kids at home, unfortunately. I am going for an ultrasound again tomorrow, but my cramping has gotten very sharp. At this point, I am just hoping it is a "normal" miscarriage and not PMP.

Op here - went for another ultrasound today and all still looks well despite very bad cramping and continued spotting. Just playing the waiting game.

OP, we’re there any signs of a subchorionic hematoma on the ultrasound? That would explain the bleeding.
I had tons of cramping early on in my first pregnancy.
Wishing you luck.

Maybe you had a twin demise? Hopefully it isn't molar but yeah that level seems suspiciously high.

Nope, no signs of that

Op here - just wanted to give a quick update that we did the 12-13 wk. scan today and all still looks good/normal. I don't think I will ever feel "out of the woods" but fingers crossed that all continues to be ok...

Great news! Wishing you the best.

(They checked your hcg levels, right? )

Of course I asked them to. OB was unfortunately adamant that we not re-check. As they “are not a reliable indicator of anything at this stage in the pregnancy and they shouldn’t have been tested at 8 weeks in the first place.”

Not sure if it makes sense to press the issue?

Great news, OP! I also had high HCG levels when mine were checked at 5.5 weeks. My OB similarly didn't worry about it at all, though I did. That baby is now a healthy, active eight month old. All the very best wishes to you for a continued healthy pregnancy -- I know how hard and scary it can be to be pregnant again after a MC.

I’d be pretty upset they never rechecked them. It’s pretty standard. But if everything else looks good then go with it. (formerly treated for a partial molar poster here).

Here’s a chart. You’re 220,000 isn’t too far out there for 8 weeks (vs 7 weeks). You could still ask or insist for another one to see if it’s dropped down as expected after 12 weeks.

Thanks! Do you mind sharing what your HCG was at 5.5 weeks?
