Help me finish a race

Anonymous
I’ve always found that I perform so much better in races than my training runs. Did a half marathon and ever once had run more than 9miles. I also had my fastest split pace that race as well. Something about a race is so much easier than a training run.

I can’t imagine anyone couldn’t at least do 14mm. That’s a brisk walk.

Maybe not. What’s your longest training run? What’s your split pace? We did the Reston perfect 10 with my co workers as a team building event and we all signed up for the 10M not 10k. My one coworker showed up just at the starting gun and didn’t realize he had signed up for the 10M and not 10k and immediately panicked because he had never ran more than 5. He finished.

The thread is from 2021, hopefully OP has finished by now.

No, she's still out there. On stormy nights, they say you can hear her agonized scream as she tries to run-walk around the tidal basin
