Weird to go straight to FET without TTC naturally?

Anonymous
Wow, this is almost my exact story! We were also diagnosed with unexplained infertility and did IVF for our cycle to get our DD (one retrieval & one transfer). Two years later, we decided to go straight to FET and not try naturally. Like you, I had three remaining embryos that were tested and created when I was younger. I was also 39 when I did my second FET. My husband liked that we could decided exactly how far apart we wanted our kids and I was also hesitant about wasting time trying naturally when I was getting older. I have a younger friend who tried on her own naturally after IVF (same unexplained infertility diagnosis) and it worked but took eight months. Our second transfer took and I am due later this year - very happy we took that approach.

Good luck with your transfer!

This is also my thinking. I just had my first but when we’re ready for the next we will be going right to a FET and not trying unassisted.

Omg this! I never want to think about ovulation dates again after years of infertility before success via IVF. Not looking to relive that even a little.

Wait, do you mean you are going to FET without having sex? What else could you mean besides TTC naturally - having sex without protection? Because if you and your husband aren't having sex, then that is a whole other problem.

Presumably, she means deciding she’s ready to get pregnant again, and calling her fertility clinic to schedule a transfer with a remaining embryo from a previous cycle, as opposed to having timed unprotected sex around ovulation and trying to get pregnant naturally that way first.
