I ended up going to a lot of gyms in the area including the OneLife in Alexandria behind Whole Foods the patent office. That place was pretty tired.
I also checked out Vida in Ballston. Very expensive for what it is and what I need. Also did not have the concept 2 rower I wanted. I ended up with a OneLife membership that I can use at any of their clubs for $40/month and have been going to the Ballston location. Sort of a pain in the ass to get to and there is the $1 parking, but they have three of the rowers I need and the gym itself dies down after around 7:30pm. Most everybody in there is 25 years younger than me, but who cares. So far so good. |
Also, in general, I realized that the business model is to build a gym and basically spend the least amount of money possible after that. So, the newer the gym the better.
I also think google is pretty good at showing the times when the gym is actually busy. We can thank our insect overlords for that information. ![]() |
Check out E60 Fitness, they have a couple of locations: one in West Alexandria (aka South Arlington), another in Rosslyn |
