| I'd keep it for awhile and see if your mind changes. |
This is what a foul person would say. To make fun of other people's life because of their modest middle-class means is toxic elitism. Shame on you. |
We cannot find a hybrid SUV; however, if you hate the van, you hate the van. Find something else. |
It's not elitist to point out that a RAV4 is the car equivalent of Red Lobster. Hey, I love some cheddar bay biscuits just as much as the next guy! But if we're being completely honest with ourselves, there are objectively better options in that price range, just as there are objectively better options than the RAV4. It's mystifying that you jumped down PP's throat and wrote a screed against some imaginary elitism you projected on to them. Slow day at work? |
DP here. NO. First Red Lobster poster is a complete ahole. Reminds me of the time I was at a party and a women I didn’t know exclaims to me “why is your phone so small? I didn’t even know they still made phones that small!” |
| Figure out the availability of the vehicle you want before you sell. We visited a couple dealerships because someone ran into our van (which is a hybrid and we love it) and there were no cars anywhere. One Subaru dealership literally had no cars in the lot. Zero. |
| I traded in older Sienna for RAV4 hybrid (and I absolutely adore my little cheddar biscuit-mobile!). My kids are older so there is less hauling required, but I honestly miss the Sienna's space anyway. Between the convenience for younger kids and the issue with car availability and prices at the moment, I'd hang onto the van for another year if not more. |

OP here...thanks for all the advice. I understand there is a car shortage right now but DH works from home and I am working from home for the foreseeable future. Even when I do have to go back to the office, it will only be for two days a week. We really don't need two cars. I just don't see a reason to keep the minivan for occasional usage (once every couple of months). We also have a 2013 RAV4 and we love it. DH is tall in the torso so we do need an SUV. I am thinking about just selling the minivan now and wait to buy a hybrid or EV next year. We also just got solar panels installed so it seems that a EV would be perfect if we can get our hands on one.
Right now with both cars in the garage, we have to pull the car out and then get into the passenger seat. Our garage is fairly organized so it is not like we can clear additional space. |
Good time to sell if you can buy another time. |
Are you sure it was your phone that is inadequate? |
Good grief, I drive a large SUV and I have never scraped the sides parking. Your problem is lack of skill. |
| I’m surprised it’s hard to park. I have a 2020 Odyssey and it’s a dream to park. Surprised it doesn’t get that good of mileage either though. |
+1 |
Who cares. She doesn’t like driving it. I have friends who love their mini vans and those who hate them. |
Are you proud of the way you bully anonymous people online? And I’m a woman, so yeah I’m pretty sure she actually WAS talking about my phone. |
